Principal’s Message

Hello Questa Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Winter Break!

Questa students will be completing the Winter MAP some time between January 9th and ending on January 23rd.  Look for the results from these tests to come home with the trimester 2 report cards.

We will be starting two reading incentive programs for our students so look for this information to come out soon from your child’s teacher.

Six Flags Read to Succeed Program (K-6th Grade)
Students can earn a free ticket to Six Flags by reading a total of 6 hours.  These hours will need to be recorded and turned in on the Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Log.  The deadline to turn the forms in is Monday, February 26th.

Stockton Ports Baseball by the Books Reading Program (TK-8th Grade)
Students can earn a voucher for two (2) free tickets to a Stockton Ports game by reading a specific number of books.  TK-5th grade students need to read 5 books at their reading level and 6th-8th grade students need to read 7 books at their reading level by March 2nd. Students will be given a special bookmark from the Ports to record each book as they complete them.  The bottom half of the bookmark must be submitted to the library by the end of the day on Friday, March 2nd.

Please take a minute to read the “Character Counts” portion of our newsletter and the tips/ideas on how to reinforce the focus trait of the month at home.  The character trait we are focusing on for the months of January and February is “Caring.”

Have a wonderful three day weekend!

 Sincerely,

Heather M. Sharp
